The Anchorage Association of Education of Young Children conference is coming soon – January 26, 27, 28, 2006, at the Hilton in downtown Anchorage. There will be many great speakers including Janet Gonzalez-Mena (author of my ECD 241 Infant and Toddler textbook), Dr. Michael Oleksa speaking about “Another Culture/Another World”. Other speakers include: Steffen Saifer, Ed.D . is the Director of the Child and Family Program at NWREL, Edna Rivera a an NAEYC Validator, WestEd Certified Infant & Toddler Trainer, Certified Family Literacy Trainer for the National Center for Family Literacy, and Certified High Scope Trainer, and myself. I will be speaking on Thursday about “The Power of Documentation”. Mike McGee, a former Early Childhood UAA student and current primary school teacher will be co-presenting with me.
